Elementary Turkish I (TURKISH 101)

This is the first course of the elementary series, and students are not expected to have any prior Turkish knowledge.

There are 12 units, each including a video, audio, song, and worksheets. It is a sequence building on each other. Therefore, they should be followed in order.

If you are registered in the course, you will receive feedback on your worksheets. You will also have the opportunity to practice in a virtual class.

The materials are designed to introduce a theme accompanying a grammar tutorial, a dialog, and a song to practice the theme.

In completing this course, students are expected to:

1) Be able to understand, speak and write about the most basic everyday situations, such as introducing themselves, talking about the weather, recognizing numbers, including prices and telephone numbers, and identifying simple objects around them and their colors.

2) Be able to understand and make complete sentences in the simple present timeframe with limited vocabulary.

3) Show an emerging ability to recognize communication strategies such as phrases, pauses, and fillers in modern everyday culture and be curious about the Turkish language and culture and continue learning.
